CLEANTECH WHOLESALE IS NOMINATED AS FINALIST FOR PRESTIGIOUS ECN AWARD

We can hardly believe it. We’ve worked hard this year to make solar wholesale better, but we weren’t expecting this… We’ve been shortlisted as a finalist for Independent Wholesaler/Distributor of the year at the upcoming ECN Awards in November 2025.

This recognition validates our commitment to quality sourcing, human installer support, and speeding up the solar supply chain over the past year. And it feels great to be called out for the work we’re putting in for you. Let’s look at why this nomination matters.

WHY THIS NOMINATION MATTERS TO YOU

The ECN Awards are a benchmark for excellence. An award at this level represents a high standard of operational and service excellence in the UK electrical contracting sector. Being nominated for Best Independent Wholesaler reflects on our service promise to you. It means that the AI approach to operations combined with the human approach to service works. 

This category judges the efficiency of wholesalers and distributors. Our shortlisting for the award highlights success in streamlining the supply chain. That’s getting the right products to the right site, on time, every time. We’re working tirelessly to make that a true reality 100% of the time.

Top distributor awards like this one also consider the support provided to customers. Our small team on the South Devon coast goes above and beyond with technical advice, proactive stock management and handling complex orders for our customers. And we do it all with a human-centric approach. We wanted to move away from complacent, impersonal transactions, towards strategic partnerships. So no customer is just a number to us. We value every partnership on a human level.

WHAT LED TO THE NOMINATION?

Our partnership with Anker SOLIX played a large role in becoming a finalist in this category. We were the first UK distributor for the Anker SOLIX X1. With Anker being such a premium, globally recognised brand, this was a huge win for us and our customers.

This strategic alliance powered by our deep market insight has brought us to the point we’re at now. We helped Anker SOLIX launch into a difficult and competitive market. And they, like us, are growing from strength to strength.

We also know that our End-to-End, human-first client pre-sale support played an important role in becoming a finalist too. We offer comprehensive design and consultation services for complex planning and layout. To us, this support is what should be offered as standard - wholesalers shouldn’t just be box pushers.

We started out with specific off-grid and specialist services, solving problems other wholesalers simply couldn’t. This is also a stand-out point that we’re sure had some pull on the decision to make us finalists.

And there’s one other category we think made us finalist for the independent wholesaler/distributer of the year award this year. Most Wholesalers offer some sort of training around products or installations. But we didn't want to settle for what “most” wholesalers do. So we intentionally bring strategic market insights to our installers to help them become savvy business owners. We’re an industry educator for solar installers across the UK. We are Rebel Experts that arm our customers to become rebel experts in their installation businesses too. 

IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE TEAM

Awards like the ECN Independent Wholesaler/Distributor of the year are won through team effort. So this achievement belongs to every member of the small CleanTech Wholesale team who have pushed the boundaries of their skills to make this possible.

We’d also like to thank our supply partners who make bringing quality solar equipment to the UK easier. And, most importantly, the installers who trust us daily. Our valued installer network trusts us to be their reliable backbone to their installation business. Thank you for this trust.

BUT, WE HAVEN’T WON YET… 

The award ceremony will be taking place in Coventry on 25th November 2025. We’ll be there to celebrate with the industry and congratulate all the winners (fingers crossed we’re one  of them).

Being a finalist for this prestigious award is a victory in itself. And this nomination fuels our drive to secure more top-quality products and provide even more human-led service for our customers in 2026.
